Q40 – QUEER CIRCUS SHOW

INFO

“A multidisciplinary show about identity that moves away from stereotypes […] with the strong contemporary visuality of OndadurtoTeatro and extraordinarily acrobatic presence of LIT Circus.”
ROMA TODAY, Italy

A show by OndadurtoTeatro (IT) and Lost in Translation Circus (U.K.) with artists from Italy, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Ireland and Australia.
Through the use of a variety of contemporary circus techniques, from more familiar examples like aerial fabric, juggling or free body to the more unusual ones of perch, cloud swing, Korean cradle or hair hanging, Q40 – Queer Circus Show, under the exceptional direction of Margó Paciotti, immerses the audience in a series of dreamlike and surreal images.
This event is dedicated to the queer world and its interconnections with contemporary circus and its poetic aesthetics, but also with its expressive power, as well as the desire for freedom and, above all, the desire for self-expression.
A multidisciplinary show about identity and sexuality that moves away from stereotypes and focuses on the freedom to really be who you are. What is femininity in general? Does being a woman or a man mean having to conform to a generally accepted common rule?
This multidisciplinary show features a series and blend of different expressive languages: song, contemporary circus, dance and theatre in a combination designed to create a unique event that is sure to surprise the public.
The right and desire to live in a world that is no longer tied to blind stereotypes is the creative spark that has prompted various artists from different artistic worlds to compare their paths and experiences in order to create a show with a strong emotional impact.
